In-Person Group starting Fall 2026

The prevalence of phones in modern life has a significant impact on our capacity to focus, feel a sense of control over how time is spent, how we relate to each other, and how we feel within ourselves. The Deliberate Attention Group is designed for people who want to understand and change their relationship with their phone - inviting a personal exploration of phone usage, support in setting new habits and strategies to feel more engaged with self and others in real life.
Participants will share, listen, and learn with each other while considering how the phone is impacting them - defining what phone usage they personally would prefer. Through conversation, tools, goal-setting, and group support, the Deliberate Attention Group will offer a format for reclaiming time, increasing meaningful contact, and helping participants feel in charge of how, and how much, the phone is featured in daily life.
Starting in the fall of 2026, the group will meet for 10 sessions - each 90 minutes - on Fridays from 1:30-3:00 in my Berkeley office. The group will meet on Sept 11, 18, 25, Oct 2, 9, 16, 30, Nov 6, 13, Dec 4.
The cost of the group is $750.00 ($75.00 per session), and group size will be limited to no more than 7 participants.
